Skill Development Council, IIT (BHU)

The Skill Development Council is an Institute level faculty-student body under the aegis of the Student Counselling Services (SAKHA), IIT(BHU). It consists of 15+ students primarily focused on the holistic development of 8000+ students on campus. We are guided by our Faculty Coordinators, Dr. Sunil Kumar Mishra (Assistant Professor, Department of Physics) and Dr. Supriya Mohanty (Assistant Professor, Department of Civil Engineering) We help students in their personality development by enabling them to explore their hobbies and interests. We aim to equip students with the necessary soft and hard skills that are required for different career opportunities and ace in life. Major Flagship Initiatives: • Speak Up! By SCS: Speak up! by SCS is a community-driven platform where like-minded people gather to have group activities to learn and improve soft skills. • Exhort Series: Series of workshops guided by industry experts and professionals to help you master various soft skills needed to ace today’s world. • Commando Talks: Series of talks by the Special Forces veterans of the Indian Army where you will learn the necessary skills from the battlefield, helpful in acing your life. • Skills Winter Bootcamp: An array of 101-level workshops and sessions on diverse skills aimed to give you exposure to different skills and help getting acquainted with them.
