Skimmerhat is a non-partisan crowdsourcing platform dedicated to finding and funding candidates who share your ideas. At Skimmerhat, we believe ideas are powerful, but actions change history. With this belief, we want to lower the barrier to entry for individual citizens into the political process. Skimmerhat includes all Federal candidates, regardless of party affiliation, and provides voters a way to find candidates through shared ideas or location, instead of going through the laborious task of sifting through newspapers or web content. Then, once a voter aligns with a candidate, we encourage them to take the next step and become a donor to that candidate. With an intuitive way to engage in the process, citizens can be educated on candidates, and then make contributions to campaigns. By encouraging voters to go from passive to active support, citizens can once again have their voices accurately represented in Washington.
