Skroot Laboratory Inc. is an Iowa based start-up company that focuses on developing sensors for biotechnological applications. Our emphasis is on designing contact-free, continuous monitoring of cell cultures. The developed sensors can monitor cell growth progress in closed incubators and bioreactors. During cell growth, the sensor membrane absorbs a class of secondary metabolites that tracks active cell progression. Our passive (no-battery) sensor stores this information and is scanned frequently by the external reader to provide a minute-by-minute tracking of growth. By offering a wide range of cell culture vessels, along with a user-applied sensor system, Skroot technology can be incorporated into your current cell culturing protocols.
At Skroot, we aim to provide new insights into cell growth patterns for scientists while giving them more time for achieving their creative scientific goals. We want scientists to use their time doing science, not sampling their cells.
