Small Acres

Growing good food and good times in Whatcom County, Washington, since 2013! Small Acres is certified organic and we strive to be as ecologically responsible as possible. This means we: - grow cover crops - minimize tillage - make high-quality aerated compost - add essential minerals based on soil testing - use long-term crop rotations to maintain healthy living soil - use a variety of native perennials and annuals to attract beneficial insects and pollinators - purchase organic seed and chicken feed - minimize waste by composting organic materials on site and recycling - are nearly 100% renewable energy powered with both solar and wind power - use 100% biodiesel made from waste vegetable oils in our tractors and delivery truck. We earned the Innovator Farmer Award in 2019 from the Community Food Co-op as "one of the best examples of small-scale sustainable agriculture done right in Whatcom County. They have been an amazing resource for other farmers and have approached their farming practices with great intention and forethought." We grow veggies, fruit, eggs, fermented products (kimchi, sauerkraut, pickles, pepper sauce), and luffa sponges! You can find our products at the Twin Sisters Market, through our CSA membership, or purchase directly from the farm.
