This strengthens the role of the community pharmacist, helps individuals become healthier and relieves the pressure on GPs.
Why do we do this?
It is imperative that each and every snorer has access to valid and impartial screening for sleep apnoea. The potential health implications for snorers, undiagnosed apnoeics and those around them, is too great to leave to chance.
However, our primary care system struggles to keep up, so a new approach is needed.
Community Pharmacists are more accessible than GPs, and they have significant healthcare training, yet their training and skills are massively under-utilised... and many want to do more to support the health of their community.
