Society of Chemical Engineers, IIT (BHU) Varanasi

The Society of Chemical Engineers (SoChem) is a prestigious organisation of the Chemical Engineering department of IIT(BHU) Varanasi whose creation dates back to1945. The society is run by the students of the department for the students of the department, and provides a forum for mutual interaction and learning for students of the department. Society involves various budding chemical engineers from all over the years. Society provides a platform for students to improve their technical skills and personal development. It also aims at bringing back the experience of our esteemed alumni for the benefit of the students along with the teachers. Various activities such as workshops, GDs, and case studies, are organized by the society throughout the year for building various skills of the students. Workshops on placement sessions which help students to decide their future streams are organized which provide the knowledge of core and non-core jobs. Workshops on Research opportunities and guides for preparation for competitive exams like GRE, GATE, and CAT are conducted as well. Apart from this, society also conducts sessions to improve the technical knowledge in both core and non-core sections. The society also organizes its departmental fest once in a year which consists of events which extract out the prestigious innovations of students. The motive of the society is to unite the students of the department and encourage growth and exchange of ideas and innovation.
