It all started when we were PhD researchers. We learned from our research that in the Netherlands, 18.3% of children experience at least one mental disorder such as anxiety, depression, conduct disorder with symptoms such as aggression; and, that having persistent difficulties with emotions and social interactions may contribute to poor mental health in the long term... so we thought... “Can we take a preventive approach?” “Can we empower children to have less challenging social and emotional interactions?" YES, WE CAN! So we decided to start SOCIAL LAB. As Social Lab, we offer a safe and inclusive setting for children to improve their social-emotional skills. They learn while playing and experimenting!
