Sojourner increases the safety of those victimized by domestic violence through comprehensive safety planning, shelter, advocacy and education that promotes opportunities for change.
Sojourner's services are free and confidential and include:
• A 24/7 Hour Crisis/Help Line that provides immediate response to callers in need of safety counseling and assistance, information and referral.
• Sojourner Shelter is an emergency housing facility for women and children unsafe in their homes.
• The Community Legal Advocacy Program provides intervention services, legal advocacy, safety assessment and planning, personal support, therapy, referral information and court accompaniment for victims in our service area.
• The Community Outreach, Education, and Training Department develops and presents information to raise awareness, promote prevention and improve law enforcement response to domestic, dating and sexual violence. This work also includes our youth personal safety curriculum SafeU which is provided to students via local schools and community groups.
Our services generate opportunities to build relationships, families, and communities that value human dignity and respect.
