SolarAPP+ (Solar Automated Permit Processing Plus), was initially developed by NREL –– with funding from the U.S. Department of Energy –– in collaboration with national code and safety organizations, to make it easier for local governments to quickly and safely approve standardized rooftop solar projects. Now managed by the SolarAPP Foundation, this independent, non-profit is working to advance a clean energy economy through the establishment of standards and tools that create safe, automated and instantaneous permitting for solar, storage and other clean energy technologies.
