Somerville Heart Foundation works tirelessly to improve the lives of those born with a heart condition. Many know about their heart from birth, but there are still some who do not find out until later in life. There are many different levels of complexity to each condition, but whatever the situation, if help is needed, we can offer advice and support. In May 2015, Somerville Heart Foundation, in partnership with the University of Suffolk, opened the UK's first dedicated CHD research centre. Young people moving from children's to adult cardiac services can feel particularly vulnerable. Puberty can be confusing enough, so we are there to help them and their families, as they transition from one service to the next. One of the biggest issues many people face these days is with mental health problems. Our dedicated mental health team is always available to lend an ear to those going through difficult times in their lives and with a raft of information up their sleeves, can make sure clear and safe care is recommended.
