Southeastern Greek Leadership Association (SGLA)

Founded in 2019, the Southeastern Greek Leadership Association (SGLA) is a voluntary association of fraternity and sorority governing councils in the United States. SGLA is one of the regional associations throughout North America designed to bring together institutions and individuals with a commitment to the promotion of fraternity and sorority life on college and university campuses. The Southeastern Greek Leadership Association traces its roots to the founding of the Southeastern Interfraternity Conference (SEIFC) during a meeting of student leaders, fraternity professionals and advisors in Jackson, Mississippi in 1966. For over 50 years, the Southeastern Interfraternity Conference (SEIFC) provided educational leadership experience for fraternity men in the Southeast. In 2018, SEIFC partnered with the Southeastern Cultural Greek Leadership Summit (SCGLS) to provide council officer training for leaders of culturally-based fraternities and sororities. At our 2019 Leadership Academy, SEIFC Executive Director Gary Wiser announced that it was time for us to begin a new journey and enhance the leadership experience as the Southeastern Greek Leadership Association (SGLA). Along with programming for current participating groups, the SGLA experience will also include programming for Panhellenic leaders. The inaugural leadership conference was held in Atlanta, Georgia, February 20-22, 2020.
