Special Needs Today: by parents, for parents is a new one-stop shop web-based service which aims to provide timely and accurate information related to medical conditions and lifestyle issues experienced by children who have special needs. The information is aimed at the following: 1. Parents and carers: helping them to better understand the challenges faced by their child by providing information written in plain English; 2. Medical professionals: saving time by enabling professionals involved in the care of special needs children to download information which can be passed to parents; 3. Schools: enabling staff within both mainstream academies and special schools to access and download information designed to help parents understand their child's care Special Needs Today aims to assist a range of people involved in the care and welfare of children who have special needs.
