The Square Foot Gardening Method helps position the individual gardener for growth, and the Square Foot Gardening Foundation’s grant program helps support local and global organizations as we all work to increase food security—one square foot at a time—so more families and communities can become full, fulfilled, and flourish.
Our vision is to help all gardeners learn the empowering life skill of Square Foot Gardening so they can create their own sustainable, sufficient, and reliable food source.
By supporting one gardener, we support all gardeners. As the individual gardener grows, they begin to see the larger gardening community that exists around them, and when one gardener steps up to lend a helping hand to another, there is a ripple effect of good work that takes place. We see our role as helping to move that good work forward because we know one act of service adds up to many acts of service in a global gardening community.
We are working, in collaboration with the larger gardening community, to increase food security in local and global communities so that families can be fed and lives can be changed. Food security leads to better and more nutritious produce for families, a possible new income stream and livelihood for communities, and a sense of real fulfillment for more people in our own gardens and around the world.
