About SRI-2030

Tackling methane emissions by working to expand the climate-smart System of Rice Intensification (SRI) to 50 million hectares by 2030. 🌾🌏 SRI-2030 is a movement initiated by Homeland Conservation, a UK charity, to promote the climate-smart cultivation of rice. The System of Rice Intensification is a set of principles applied by farmers to increase their yield, but which has the benefit of substantially reducing water consumption, greenhouse gases emissions and especially methane. SRI is recognised as one of the Drawdown solutions that are available today to address the climate crisis. Recent research shows that SRI is even more beneficial than preciously thought because of carbon sequestration in healthier soils. Working with the SRI-Rice team at Cornell University and SRI champions across the world, our mission is to expand the practice of SRI to 50 million hectares by 2030.
