PET plastic, most commonly in the form of plastic bottles, accounts for over 10% of plastic waste in India. Although 90% of this is collected and recycled, the recycled PET is not up to a high standard, resulting in low levels of circularity. Srichakra was borne from the realisation that it is possible to build a profitable plastic recycling process that ensures plastic bottles do not end up in the ocean and can be reused many times over.
