Sseko Designs is an ethical fashion brand that believes in the power of business to create a more just and beautiful world. Sseko produces unique, handcrafted footwear and accessories. We work with high potential young women in Uganda to provide them with a sustainable income that contributes to their university education.
In 2016, we launched our direct sales platform, The Sseko Fellows, to create community and opportunity for social entrepreneurs based in the United States who want to use their passion and skills to make a positive impact from women and girls across the world. (Last year, the Sseko Fellows, enabled us to TRIPLE our scholarships for university-bound women in Uganda!)
To date, through our employment/scholarship program, Sseko has enabled 100 women to continue on to University. Sseko's products, model and mission have been featured by Vogue, Redbook, Shape, Fitness, O Magazine, Fast Company, People Magazine, Huffington Post and Daily Candy.
Bloomberg Businessweek named Sseko one of the top Social Enterprises in America. Sseko Designs received the Social Venture Network Innovation Award and the SXSW Eco Social Impact award and selected for the Cartier Women's Initiative awards.
