Society of Student Metallurgists (SSM) is the face that represents the entire Department of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering at IIEST, Shibpur. It is the Official Academic Society of the Department of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering, IIEST Shibpur founded in the year 1939 to create an interface between students, faculties, and alumni. The society aims to bring about perfect harmony between technical and co-curricular skills development. It also provides the students with a platform to explore and grow to their fullest potential.
