Prior to founding STAT Media, Dean Stattmann spent over a decade as an editor in the magazine industry, serving most recently as Director of Special Projects at Men's Health. After years of creating editorial content for print and digital; interacting and forging relationships with editors, publicists, and brands; and reading over 200 pitches a day, he decided to create the 'anti-agency'—a results-based PR firm built upon deep, high-quality relationships in the media industry and, critically, a nuanced understanding of what it takes to secure media coverage. Unlike a typical PR agency, where an account executive may be juggling up to a dozen or more accounts at a time, all STAT Media client accounts (maximum: four) are handled by Dean personally—for a fraction of the typical agency fee.
