Wij ondersteunen bewoners in kwetsbare situaties in de buurten van het Centrum en helpen hen om een steviger fundament te krijgen. Onze focus ligt op preventie; het versterken van vaardigheden van de Amsterdammer zelf en het versterken van het netwerk van de Amsterdammer.
Buurtteam Amsterdam Centrum en Veilige Haven zijn onderdeel van Stichting Centram.
HISTORIE
Al sinds 2010 biedt Centram hulp en ondersteuning aan Amsterdammers. Onze organisatie is ontstaan uit een lijn van liefdadigheidsorganisaties en armenzorg, waarbij de oorsprong ligt in het genootschap Liefdadigheid naar Vermogen. Dit genootschap werd in 1871 op gericht door jongeren die het verschil wilden maken voor armen in Amsterdam. Met succes, hun werkwijze werd in Amsterdam en ook landelijk toonaangevend en is de oorsprong van het moderne sociaal werk. Wij zijn trots op onze geschiedenis en diepe wortels in de stad.
