Strata is a boutique consulting firm specializing in conflict management and resolution. Our name reflects our recognition that conflict can play out at any level of human interaction—including how one relates to oneself. International - Driven by resource competition, ethnic grievance, or other motives, nations and aspiring political actors too often opt for armed conflict as a “continuation of politics by other means.” Inter-group - Whether we’re dealing with companies, non-profits, or people who share a religious or ethnic affiliation, groups’ disparate interests lead to conflict between them—a situation further complicated by differences within groups. Interpersonal - Whether brought together by business, marriage, or some other enterprise, individuals inevitably find themselves butting heads when their interests and/or interactional styles do not neatly align. Intrapersonal - Strange as it sounds, most people do not truly know their own minds. This leads to regrettable decisions and—when these decisions carry a lot of weight or feel especially permanent—chronic pain. Strata advances eminently pragmatic solutions to conflict via a range of services, including mediation, training and/or direct support in negotiation, and one-on-one coaching in specialized techniques that allow negotiators to unlock the intelligence of hard-to-access brain regions, enabling better decisions.
