SUGO CORK RUGS® is an unprecedented brand of rugs made in Portugal, launched in 2017 with it’s first collection, presenting a contemporary and innovative design that recovers the origins and tradition of weaving art.
SUGO CORK RUGS® is based on an innovative, patent pending method for producing cork carpets, which recovers traditional weaving techniques and has resulted in the creation of a single and functional rug, with the added value that results from the incorporation of cork - including thermal and acoustic insulation, comfort, and anti-allergenic properties.
In addition to cork, SUGO CORK RUGS® combines national wool and recovered cotton from large industrial productions, options that allows the combination of the cork with one or several colors of the textile fibers used, resulting in a multiplicity of patterns, colors and textures, perfect for any interior space.
The Cork Fabric was specifically developed to be used in weaving, which gave rise to a patent application and it benefits from the special properties of the cork, giving it maximum comfort.
SUGO CORK RUGS is committed to the environment at all stages of the product life cycle, from the collection of raw materials to the final product and packaging, and uses environmentally-friendly materials that preserve the ecosystem.
Idealized by Susana Godinho, textile designer and passionate about textiles and rugs which aim is to create products that have responsible design. Working with only used materials or sustainable ones, with ethical and social concerns to meet tomorrow’s needs.
