The growing demand for new textile solutions, namely in the area of ecological design and sustainability, bearing in mind the creation of value, associated with the strong interest raised around cork as a unique material with exceptional characteristics, and also with the difficulties in using cork-based materials on the textile market, gave rise to the CORK-A-TEX project - with the aim of developing textile substrates with the incorporation of cork waste, namely from cork stoppers and old cork products.
