Southampton University Human Powered Aircraft (SUHPA) is a group of students, setting out to build a competitive human powered aircraft. Our current aircraft, Super Lazarus, is be our first first aircraft, having won the formula flight prize at the annual Icarus Cup two years running. The aircraft few for the first time on the 14th pf June 2021 What is a Human Powered Aircraft? A human powered aircraft (HPA) is powered exclusively by the leg muscles of its pilot. It mist be built to be extremely lightweight, and designed with efficiency and simplicity in mind. What are we doing? We are currently working on upgrading and flying our current aircraft to compute in the Icarus Cup each year. We have also started work on our next aircraft, which will be an attempt to cross the English Channel
