For over 40 years, Child Development, Inc. has provided quality child care for the children in the Maquoketa area as Sunshine Preschool and Child Care. We are known known as Sunshine Learning Center, to more accurately reflect what we do- help children learn! Sunshine is a 501c(3) organization- that means we're not out to make a profit, we're here to give your children the best care we possibly can.
All of our classrooms utilize child-led curriculum designed to benefit even the youngest child academically, physically, social-emotionally. Sunshine provides a secure, stimulating environment for children when they are away from home!
Staff at Sunshine take a variety of training courses each year, and every staff in our classrooms is certified in CPR, First Aid and Universal Precautions, which is above and beyond the requirements of the Iowa Department of Human Services requirements. This is just one way that Sunshine staff ensure that your child is getting the best care possible!
Sunshine works with several local, state, and federal programs to keep our program standards high. These agencies include: the Iowa Department of Human Services, Child Care Resource and Referral, Mississippi Bend Area Education Agency, and Early Childhood Iowa. Sunshine participates in the Child and Adult Care Food program.
