Make a Difference GM

We connect and empower women & girls in Stockport with organisations that offer support and progress, we remove patriarchal barriers and promote equality. The Stockport Women and Girls’ Network (SWAG Network) has evolved from many years of conversations with Stockport Council to become a proactive platform where we collaborate with other local organisations to deliver the best outcomes and interests for women & girls across Stockport. We provided a platform to share, feel safe and network. Together, we are stronger when we challenge the barriers we face because we are born female. We amplify the voices of the unheard, unseen and disregarded women in our society who face additional barriers due to intersectionality. Our SWAG Network’s mission is to create a network that connects organisations and people so women & girls can get all the support that is available within the borough of Stockport so they can thrive. We create clear pathways for all females to have the opportunity to reach their full potential and are not negatively impacted by gender discrimination, misogyny, the oppression of class, race, sexuality, and social economics.
