Tautoko Tech is a medical device company developing a patch insulin pump with wrap around support and education software. The team behind Tautoko Tech formed at the University of Canterbury (UC) after 15+ years of clinical diabetes research. The bioengineering lab have developed a low-cost insulin pump, with the goal to get medical technology into the hands that need them.
Our team is proudly working with rural communities, developing an insulin pump by Māori, with Māori, for all who need one. Access to medical devices for people living with diabetes is limited by a vast wealth gap. We strive to close this gap using active community co-design, improving efficiency. Tautoko Tech is excited to be shaping the future models of care.
