About TEDxWarrington
The Warrington license was originally applied for in 2019 by Warrington business owner and resident, Kirsty James, who saw the potential to bring the global TED brand to the Warrington community. The news received thousands of messages and social interactions. After event postponements in both 2020 and 2021, the inaugural event took place in June 2022 and was hailed by the local media as one of the best events the town had ever seen, and again in 2023.
The TEDx licence has now been renewed successfully for 2025. The event will see a new theme, new venue, many new team members and of course a new cohort of prospective TEDx speakers.
About TEDx
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)
