Telexos developed a new technology which can quantitatively detect and analyze rare cells out of a blood sample (8ml). This makes it possible to detect just one rare cell out of 40 billion blood cells, isolate it as a single cell and characterize this cell in respect to protein and genomic marker (e.g., drug targets, resistance marker). This makes this technology unique.
This technology is applicable for circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and rare white blood cells (WBCs) like T(reg) or CART cells.
First results (using CTCs) for stratification of breast cancer patients and therapy monitoring of breast cancer patients look quite promising.
