Tembo NYC is a creative studio that blends strategic branding, ethical design, and social impact. Founded by award-winning creative director Deb Chusid, Tembo helps mission-driven brands and nonprofits grow through compelling storytelling, smart strategy, and purpose-led visuals.
With over 25 years of experience crafting campaigns for global brands and nonprofits, Deb launched Tembo NYC to bring big-agency expertise to values-driven organizations. From brand identity and campaign development to sustainable product design, everything we create is rooted in meaning.
We partner with a Queens-based women’s sewing cooperative to produce eco-conscious products—including our bestselling totes and pouches. During the pandemic, we launched a buy-one-donate-one face mask initiative that delivered over 23,000 masks to those in need.
Tembo NYC has been featured in Forbes, NPR Marketplace, People Magazine, and Business Insider. Our products are sold at The Guggenheim Museum Store and other cultural institutions. Whether we're building a brand or designing goods that give back, we believe great design should tell a story—and create real-world change.
