About Tharros Place

Tharros Place is developing a residential facility for female victims of human trafficking ages 11-17 within the Savannah area. The facility will meet both emergency/rapid and long-term housing needs, with the ability to place immediately a young victim in crisis while also meeting long-term needs to transition to life beyond trafficking and sexual assault. Tharros means courage in Greek, and Tharros Place strives to create a culture of courage for its residents. We currently conduct outreach, prevention, and training for the Savannah community, and are working towards creating a well-trained and compassionate staff with a focus on trauma-informed and victim-centered care.
