About The Altering Group

The Altering Group was founded with a deep commitment to supporting young people and adults, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds or underrepresented groups, with the aim of addressing the lack of opportunities, guidance and support for those individuals. We offer a comprehensive support service that addresses multiple needs, from youth mentoring and empowerment, life skills, financial literacy, employment support and support for vulnerable people, to low-cost counselling, youth and adult workshops and training. We welcome all individuals, regardless of their personal circumstances, as we believe everyone has the right to access the support and services they need. We are committed to making a positive impact in the lives of our service users, in communities and in society. Our mission is clear: to empower young people, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds and oppressed groups, to avoid negative paths, develop essential life skills, prepare for employment, access mental health support and gain financial knowledge, in order to create equal opportunities and success. Through our services, we aim to reduce risks such as criminal exploitation, knife crime, abuse, neglect, and gang violence, and provide pathways for success. We are also dedicated to supporting adults through our workshops and low-cost counselling services, to achieve their full potential. We aim to improve mental health and wellbeing, promote growth and self-esteem, build community and inspire both young people and adults. We also offer training and workshops within other organisations to support service development, workplace culture and increase employee's knowledge and skills. Our vision is to create a world where everyone, regardless of their background and upbringing, has the resources and support they need to thrive. We value inclusivity, diversity, and a commitment to combatting oppression and stigma and making a difference in communities and society.
