The Beacon Centre

The Beacon Centre offers evidence-based treatment approaches and psychological services including individual therapy, family therapy, and psycho-diagnostic assessments in St. John's, NL and surrounding communities. We provide therapy services for children, adolescents, adults, seniors and families. We also provide services to specialty populations including military personnel, health care professionals, and first responders. Psychological assessments involve a comprehensive examination of cognitive and emotional functioning. Psychologists at the Beacon Centre are trained to offer brief, abbreviated, and comprehensive psychological assessments for a variety of difficulties The clinicians at the Beacon Centre have a longstanding history of offering services to corporate clients across Newfoundland and Labrador. Clients have included private colleges, community groups, wellness organizations, government groups and private corporations in a wide range of industries (e.g., oil and gas; medical clinics; aviation; and finance sectors). The Beacon Centre’s Lighthouse Program offers participants affordable, scientifically valid information and strategies to promote mental wellness. Topics are meant to help participants tackle common issues (e.g., anxiety) and to strive to live their most meaningful life. Participants can sign up for one workshop or join us for many. Group leaders aim to curate the most important psychological findings relating to a topic and present it in an engaging, relaxed, and fun weekly class. The Beacon Centre is approved by the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) to offer continuing education (CE) workshops for professionals looking to continue their education and professional development beyond the graduate level and keep abreast of new knowledge, research methods, and practice techniques.
