About The Collaborative Trust
The Collaborative Trust facilitates research-informed workshops on positive youth development for parents and professionals to help them work with young people in a strengths-based way, building respectful relationships, ownership and empowerment. Workshops are co-designed and co-facilitated by a young person with lived experience in the topic, so you have both an expert and a youth perspective. When training your organisation in-house, we seek to understand what you are dealing with so we can design workshops that get your team working together to come up with solutions, leaving them confident to be more intentional about what they are already doing well, as well as giving them extra tools for their kete. For community groups and companies with wellbeing programmes, we run parent workshops that help them understand what their kids are dealing with, how to help them think critically and get communication techniques that work. Schools and tertiary institutions use us to help staff learn how to spot the signs of mental distress, handle increasingly challenging situations and students, and build resilience in young people to help reduce anxiety and attendance avoidance, improving educational and health outcomes. Health professionals book professional development workshops on things like brain development and communication, trauma-informed care, HEADSS assessments, FASD and the like. Sports coaches and mentors value tips and strategies for de-escalation, handling difficult conversations, understanding te ao Māori and how to incorporate these beautiful contexts with all young people, encouraging equity and inclusivity. Those at the coal face; youth workers and social workers; often deal with tricky situations, and are always looking for new learnings and ideas. Let us help you help young people in Aotearoa to manage mental ill-health, addictions, learning disabilities, trauma, and how to stay safe in the ever-changing online world.
