How can the strategic and creative firepower of the advertising and marketing communications industry be harnessed to help address tackle the big challenges of our time, especially climate change?
Founded by an ex-planner and a climate geek, Ella and Jonathan founded the Comms Lab because we were both deeply concerned about climate change. We launched with our report 'Reclaiming Agency', which outlined the strategic opportunity for agencies to take the 'purpose-turn' - to define and embody the positive contribution they want to make in the world. We launched the 'Reclaiming Agency' leadership programme in 2017, now in its third year.
In 2019, we responded to the call to the industry to declare a climate emergency by hosting the UK's first Climate Crisis Summit at the Royal Institution, in Mayfair. Following this, we helped make 'Create and Strike' happen, which attracted 160 CEOs to sign a letter supporting their employees to join the Global Climate Strike in September.
