An organisation which promotes engineering's contribution and responsibility to global society and develops its future leaders. The Happold Foundation’s mission is to have growing influence in the development of a community of people working to improve the built environment. It seeks to deliver social benefit through its network of influential members, its programme for personal development of scholars, its support for innovation in engineering education and its engagement with projects that bring great benefit to the underprivileged. It’s 4 key areas of focus are: 1. Engineering Futures - schools outreach - applying STEM and encouraging careers in engineering 2. Engineering Education - higher education scholarships, intern programme and teaching awards 3. Engineering Thinking - promoting thought leadership in the areas of: Climate Change, Urbanisation and Scarcity of Resource 4. Engineering of Human Development - supporting those providing engineering services to those in society who are most in need
