The Conrods is the Official BAJA SAE Team of SRM University, Chennai & is one of the most successful and renowned BAJA teams in India. We are a group of 25 undergraduate students from various branches of engineering such as Automobile, Mechanical, Mechatronics, and Electrical & Electronics with the fundamental goal to design and build an off-road vehicle from scratch every year. During spring we travel to competitions around the country to test our designs against the best from all across India, competing against more than 300 colleges along the way.
We participate in national & international racing & design events such as ENDURO STUDENT INDIA and MAHINDRA BAJA SAE INDIA. These are events held in order to stimulate real time engineering marvels. The event requires us to rigorously test and finally race our ALL-TERRAIN VEHICLE at NATRIP Facility Pithampur (Madhya Pradesh) and GEDEE Off-Road Race Track & also in countries like BRAZIL, KOREA, SOUTH AFRICA and various places in North America such as AUBURN, MARYLAND, OREGON.
