The Cultural Connection

The Cultural Connection is a grassroots organisation dismantling the school-to-prison pipeline. We work at the intersection of mental health, education, and the criminal justice system - tackling prevention and rehabilitation. Founded in response to deep-rooted inequalities our founder witnessed in youth work, mental health, and justice, we are community-led, culturally grounded, and equity-focused. Rooted in lived experience and powered by evidence, our work spans: 🔹 Prevention & Early Intervention - Trauma-informed schools programmes (Years 5 -9) building protective factors to reduce violence, exploitation, and exclusion. 🔹 Rehabilitation & Resettlement - Steps2Success supports people in forensic mental health services or furthest from work/education through holistic mental health and employability programmes. 🔹 Community Advocacy & Systemic Change - Equipping communities to navigate mental health systems, advocate for rights, and shape policy via lived-experience led research. Since 2019, we’ve supported 100+ young people and vulnerable adults - many re-engaging in education, work, or sustained personal growth. Operating across the West Midlands, London and nationally, we co-create solutions that challenge injustice, amplify unheard voices, and make equity the norm. 📣 We’re connecting with facilitators, collaborators, and partners who share our mission.
