The work of optimizing and automating HR is well underway, but this approach will only be effective within certain functions and process. The remaining work – true innovation, self-sustaining culture and true workplace justice for BIPOC, women, IWD and LGBTQ+ employees – will remain messy, complex and wonderfully human. By designing new ways to foster human connection in the workplace, we shift our focus from process to outcomes: rewarding co-creation and generosity alongside individual performance; training leaders to manage diverse teams rather than to coach individual careers; measuring behavior rather than demographics; minimizing the life-threatening impact of loneliness and workplace stress; and building cultures where trust and transparency empower all employees to understand and contribute to a company's most important challenges.
