About TherMU
This is the official LinkedIn page of the Thermophysiology and Metabolism research group of Maastricht University (TherMU). The TherMU group, co-led by Dr. Hannah Pallubinsky and Dr. Guy Plasqui, is an interdisciplinary team focused on human physiology, energy metabolism, and health. The group's main research investigates how environmental factors such as temperature, humidity, and air quality impact human health, well-being and performance; with emphasis on inter-individual differences in whole-body physiology and the underlying mechanisms on a cellular level. TherMU's research integrates basic physiological studies with more applied science to offer valuable insights for professionals in building design, medicine, and related fields. By investigating innovative approaches to prevent and treat metabolic and cardiovascular conditions, the group seeks to translate its findings into practical solutions that promote healthier, more sustainable indoor environments of the future and build resilience to future climate challenges.
