The Think Tank Aorta project focus on those with a genuine and profound interest in aortic diseases, the pathology, the diagnose, the cures, the treatments, the care, the prevention. People interested in the human aorta. Especially when, and if, it does not function as it is supposed to do. We have an interest in diagnosis, treatments, cures, prevention, and how an aortic disease can affect not only the entire life of a patient, but perhaps the patients whole family.
You who find an interest in this project are perhaps a professor, a surgeon, an anesthesiologist, a nurse, a cardiologist, a medical doctor, a researcher, a genetics expert in aortic diseases, a dietitian, a psychologist, a physiotherapist, a patient, a family member or a friend of a patient.
The Think Tank Aorta project will initially focus on trying to reach some of the leading aortic disease professionals and researchers in the medical field within Europe. Together with other initiatives, this project can perhaps help us overcome the fact that Europe presents a lot of barriers trying to find common ground and joint projects. Europe with close to 750 million people is parted in 50 countries using 24 official languages, using a variety of national and regional healthcare systems and solutions. But we all strive towards the same goal. Increased awareness and a good care for patients and their families suffering from rare aortic diseases.
By also allowing patient advocates meet the experts and professionals in the medical field in the Think Tank Aorta project, we try to help the people who do research and who very much lead the development of new treatments and cures of aortic diseases, to also get a patient perspective on their thoughts and ideas at an early stage.
