Tight-Knit aims to provide both physical and emotional warmth to unhoused populations. Tight-Knit addresses the effects of homelessness, namely the growing threat of climate change on unhoused individuals, as well as the lack of respect and dignity often offered to them from the community at large, through over 150 hand-knitted providers of warmth, community education spanning nine states and reaching 1.1 million people, and direct partnership engagement in South Florida and beyond.
Through collaboration with community partner Showering Love, Tight-Knit's hats have been continuously dispersed directly to homeless individuals in South Florida, providing safety from the cold and a sense of community compassion.
