TOLERATE - Adaptation to climate change in the rhizosphere across the millennia This project receives funding from the European Research Executive Agency (REA). Tolerate is a Horizon Europe project that addresses critical questions about how individual species and ecosystems respond to ongoing climate change. Utilizing environmental ancient DNA (aDNA) from frozen soils, we'll unlock insights into past climate adaptations. The project focuses on enhancing drought tolerance in plants through bioaugmentation of the rhizosphere with drought-adapted rhizobacteria, aiming to improve soil health and crop resilience. Tolerate's innovative approach integrates paleogenetics, synthetic biology, and plant biotechnology to address the urgent need for climate-resilient agriculture and sustainable bio-based products.
