On April 11, 2017, the Banko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) approved the merger of Country Builders Bank, Inc. (CBB) and First Macro Bank, Inc. (FMB), with CBB emerging as the surviving entity. Presently, CBB stands as the largest rural bank in Metro Manila in terms of branch presence, and it ranks among the country's leading rural banks. The merger also strengthens CBB's reach in Cavite and Rizal, where FMB had established eight (8) bank sites.
With a formidable team of highly capable officers and directors, CBB combines extensive business expertise and accomplishments. The bank now boasts a combined workforce of 363 employees and an expanded branch network of thirty-three (33) sites across Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Rizal, and Bulacan.
