Nest - Network Of Early Career Researchers In Sustainability Transitions company information, Employees & Contact Information

The NEST is a global research community consisting of doctoral students and early career researchers. It aims to be a focal point for all its members, organizing conferences, webinars, and other events, as well as serving as a resource repository and communication platform. Research in systems innovation and sustainability transitions has grown rapidly in the last two decades, from a small group of interested academics to a burgeoning research field with diverse approaches and a strong interdisciplinary character. This field of research is supported by a well-organized international forum, the Sustainability Transitions Research Network (STRN). However, in 2015, a new informal community was created, the PhD/ECR Transitions Network, catering specifically to the needs of early career researchers and doctoral candidates, complementing the support provided by STRN. Over time, as the network developed and gathered momentum, the network was renamed in order to better develop a shared identity and better reflect the purpose and aims of our community. The name chosen was NEST – The Network of Early career researchers in Sustainability Transitions. The network’s first activities were organized as part of the 2015 International Sustainability Transitions Conference at the University of Sussex, and were soon thereafter expanded to include our own conference (the NEST conference), a web presence in multiple channels and collaboration in the organization of further events. Since mid-2017, the NEST is directly represented in the STRN steering committee, allowing for improved coordination between networks and representation of early career researchers at the STRN level. We invite all interested early career researchers to get in touch with our community and participate in its further development. You can contact us through our online presence in various media, or, if you prefer, you can also contact our members directly at research events.
