Since 2004, the number of students who receive additional support for learning in Scotland has octupled, to 40.5%.
This support is mostly based in mainstream classrooms - which means that more and more teachers need to navigate the paperwork associated with meeting students' needs. We want to empower teachers to do this effectively, in a way that improves outcomes for learners without increasing admin time for staff.
Trellis is a new venture from Create/Change and Helpfirst, established in response to the CivTech 10.10 challenge,
"How can technology help make teachers’ workload be more manageable, enabling them to focus on the activities that add the most value to learners’ outcomes?"
The partnership behind Trellis means our work is grounded in deep knowledge of user centred design and machine learning expertise. With investment from CivTech and support from the Scottish Government, we're paving the way for more inclusive education.
