Trencalòs Team is a student non-profit association committed to design and manufacture high-performance modeling radio-controlled unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Our goal is the development of aeronautical projects and science outreach.
In 2011 the team transformed a commercial modelling sailplane into an aeroplane only propelled by solar photovoltaics, becoming the first solar aircraft ever built by students in Spain. The sailplane flew during 6 consecutive hours.
Since 2007 up to 2022 the team has participated in every edition of the international aeronautical competition Air Cargo Challenge.
The next competition in which the team will be involved will be the XtraChallenge 2024, which will be held in València, Spain. The team is actually developing an electric aircraft for the competition.
