Both the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the European Medicines Agency have guidance and regulations in place for clinical trial diversity planning. Despite making up 13% of the US population, only 5% of African Americans participate in clinical trials. For Hispanics and Latinx, the data is worse, with only 1% participating despite making up 18% of the US population. This stark disparity highlights the urgent need for initiatives like Trial Equity’s, which aim to bridge this gap.
