The pump utilises an ECG signal to synchronise with the cardiovascular autoregulation system which controls contraction and dilation of blood vessels to optimize efficiency in blood flow. In addition it provides sufficient Surplus Hemodynamic Energy (SHE), a surrogate measure of micro circulation, so that all vital organs receive adequate oxygen and nutrients during surgery.
