Tsolo is a proudly South African team, developing computing technologies that enable local organisations to do outstanding work. We deal in petabytes, building the hardware and software needed to store, integrate and process big data efficiently. We’ve got equally big ambitions, along with the proven experience and funding to innovate and disrupt the local technology industry. Having received grants from the Technology Innovation Agency and the National Research Foundation, we’re developing hot and cold storage infrastructures that will challenge the cost model and raise the expectations of cloud storage and technology innovation in South Africa. Current clients include the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) Telescope, the South African Radio Astronomy Observatory and the South African National Space Agency Digital Earth project. What we’re good at: * Engineering the full stack – Building our infrastructure from the circuit boards through to the user interfaces. * Innovating with purpose – Maintaining a focus on meeting our client’s practical business needs throughout a project. * Keeping it open – Using and passing on the cost benefit of open source to make high-performance technologies more affordable and interoperable for the local market.
