The focus of the TS Workplace consultancy is to address the dynamic changes to the way we all now approach the world of work and how we facilitate places for people to work in, productively. The three cornerstones being People, Performance and Place. My role is to consult with businesses and work through the cornerstones and key issues to determine what the business requires and from that, develop a strategy from which the workforce can thrive in any new working environment. I do that by looking at these wider business issues to understand the businesses’ performance goals, their approach to the people they employ and wish to attract, their views on how they see their people working to the best of their ability and the type of places they would like to work in. To compliment and stimulate these conversations I introduce independent industry evidence-based research, knowledge and other specialists, where appropriate, to provoke thought, insight and debate to help with the review process. This approach will enable us to collectively generate a strategy to set out how best the workforce can deliver the objectives of the business, centred around how and where they work. This will in turn determine the profile of their property requirement. The building and architectural design offer is not unique, but the people are. They make business what it wants and needs to be and for them to perform, they need relevant and appropriate environments and infrastructures to support the specific work they do, whether it be ‘interaction’, ‘teaching’, ‘learning’, ‘managing’, ‘collaborating’, ‘delivering’ or ‘supporting’.
